| Thank you so much for the wonderful care and attention you gave my mum Ms E during her last few precious weeks of her lovely life. Please pass on the special thanks to Priscilla who was with my mum when she died at home, as we have not been able to thank her personally. She was wonderful with my mum. |
| ML visits me once a week for two hours. I am very happy with the care ML gives me. ML and I do lots together. I enjoy talking to ML, but sometimes I am naughty and talk too much. We do jigsaw puzzles together, we have just finished one and I am looking to frame it and put it on the wall. I can always rely on Prestige, because I know if I need ML to visit, the staff at the office will try to get her to me and if she is able to, she will come. I find the branch staff lovely to deal with and I think of them as my friends. I would highly recommend Prestige because I love all the staff in the branch and I know all ML's clients mean a lot to her. |
| Excellent service by wonderful people. L and B are most helpful and women carers superb. |
| Caring for late stage dementia isn't easy. Caring for a women of independent spirit, a tendency to forthrightness and a fairly wicked sense of humour with late stage dementia is particularly challenging. This is increased more so when dysphasia makes communication difficult.
Caring for someone with this condition is not only about providing for their obvious needs of feeding, toileting, ensuring correct body temperature and cleanliness, hard enough though this is, it is much, much more. The 'more' is what I think and hope makes life bearable and gives it some quality. Prestige has provided the 'more' through the quality of its home care assistants. Prestige has ensured that a professional team is in place to give consistency of care, familiar faces, familiar laughs and familiar ways of doing things - with a willingness to go that step further. In return home care assistants can't necessarily be guaranteed a great return for their patience, humour and persistence and on occasion have to tolerate unpredictable verbal abuse and the attempts of my mother to lash out, which sometimes hit their target. No day is the same and it is only the unpredictability that is predictable. Prestige care assistants have never given up on my mother - they have consistently tried to improve care with ideas and suggestions and this has clearly paid off. I firmly believe that it is this 'caring ' care and determination that has improved the quality of her life in many ways. This not only comes from the qualities I mention above but from familiarity and close observation of her many moods, triggers for various behaviours and the sharing of coping strategies between the team members. When problems arise, as the inevitably do, Prestige's management is quick to react and their whole team's support has been invaluable. |
